The Education Foundation’s endowment fund ensures that your donation lives on for perpetuity because only the interest on your donation will be disbursed to the causes and projects that the Education Foundation supports.
Our endowment fund is held with Red Deer and District Community Foundation. This partnership with many other community groups means that we can support each other in our fundraising efforts, access valuable expertise and by pooling our funds, we share in the management costs.
To donate, please make your cheque payable to Red Deer and District Community Foundation and send it to us at:

Here are some of the more popular ways of giving.
Legacy giving, also known as “planned giving,” is a very personal donation. Typically the donor has a vision on how he or she wants to impact a charity for the benefit of future generations. It is all about making a difference in the future for a cause that you believe in today.
A planned gift might be an outright gift of funds or an asset today rather than in the future. Or it may be a bequest upon the donors death. It all depends on how you wish to set up your gift.
In the vast majority of cases, legacy gifts to charities are only a percentage of an entire estate. Some people treat a legacy gift to a charity as another heir in their will.
In all cases, the objective is to integrate the charitable gift into the donor’s overall financial, tax, and estate planning objectives in order to maximize the benefits to the you and to the Education Foundation.
Direct Gift: you can make a gift of cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, or other assets and receive an immediate tax receipt.
Appreciated Securities: you can transfer securities which have increased in value to the Foundation and eliminate capital gains tax.
Bequest: you can provide for a bequest of all or a portion of your estate or of specific assets. Your estate may benefit from resulting tax benefits.
Life Insurance: you can make a gift of an insurance policy you no longer require by making the Foundation the beneficiary of the policy, or transferring policy ownership to the Foundation. Either an immediate or deferred tax benefit will result depending on the option chosen.
Retirement Funds: you can designate all or a portion of remaining tax deferred retirement funds and receive significant tax savings allowing you to direct these funds as you prefer.
